一種尖細、短促的聲音，通常由雛鳥，特別是小雞發出。有時也指類似的高音噪音。

主要用來描述雛鳥的叫聲；和“chirp”不同，後者也能描述成鳥或其他動物。一般只用於描述動物叫聲的場合。
