অনানুষ্ঠানিকভাবে ব্যবহার হয়, বিশেষত প্রাণী, অবাঞ্ছিত অতিথি বা হুমকির ক্ষেত্রে। 'chase off someone/something' শব্দবন্ধটি সাধারণ। এটি শুধুমাত্র বলার চেয়ে বেশি জোরালো, কিছু কাজ বা হুমকি থাকে।
