シェーズとは、馬に引かせる1〜2人用の軽くて開放的な馬車で、主に昔使われていました。

現代日本語や日常会話ではほとんど使われません。歴史小説や美術館の解説で見かけることがあります。 ‘chaise lounge’（寝椅子）とは別物です。
