Definition

用手接住某个移动的东西，收到某物，或意外发现某物。也常用于表示染上疾病或理解某事。

“Catch”用法广泛：既可指抓住实物（catch a ball），也可指赶上交通工具（catch a bus），还可指染病（catch a cold）或明白某事（Did you catch that?）。这些都不能用“take”代替。

Can you catch this ball?

I need to catch the bus at 8 o'clock.
