Expresión algo formal, más frecuente en escritos. Se usa cuando sujetas o agarras algo de repente. Suele ir seguido del objeto ('catch hold of my hand'). Sinónimos comunes: 'agarrar', 'asir'. No es igual a 'hold' ('sujetar' por un tiempo prolongado).
