Definition

যারা যুদ্ধ বা শত্রুর দ্বারা বন্দী হয়ে জোরপূর্বক আটকে রাখা হয়েছে। সাধারণত তাদের ইচ্ছার বিরুদ্ধে রাখা হয়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

এটি সাধারণত আনুষ্ঠানিক বা সাহিত্যিক প্রসঙ্গে ব্যবহৃত হয়; যেমন 'take captives' মানে বন্দী করা এবং 'release captives' মানে মুক্তি দেওয়া। পশুপাখির জন্য নয়।
