道具や機器を正確に測定できるように調整すること。比喩的に、成果を上げるために微調整を行う意味でも使われる。

主に機械や計測器など技術的な文脈で使われる。比喩的には、プロセスや気持ちに調整を加える場面で使われるが、芸術的な創作には使わない。
