어떤 생각, 계획, 설명 등을 믿거나 받아들이는 것. 가끔 사업에 투자한다는 의미로도 쓰임.

실제로 무언가를 구입한다는 뜻이 아니라, 아이디어·계획 등을 믿거나 받아들일 때 자주 사용한다. 'buy into an idea/plan/story'처럼 많이 쓰이고, 사업 투자 의미는 적다.
