Definition

الـ brush أداة فيها شعيرات أو ألياف، وتُستخدم للتنظيف أو الطلاء أو ترتيب الشعر. وكفعل، تعني استخدام هذه الأداة أو ملامسة شيء بخفة أثناء الحركة.

هذه الكلمة شائعة جداً كاسم وكفعل. من التراكيب الشائعة: 'toothbrush', 'hairbrush', 'paint brush', 'brush your teeth', 'brush your hair'. عبارة 'brush against' تعني ملامسة شيء بخفة ومن غير قصد، و'brush off' قد تعني إزالة الغبار أو تجاهل شخص وصرفه.
