細くて固い毛や繊維で、歯ブラシや動物の背中などに見られる。動詞では怒りや不快感で毛が逆立つ様子も表す。

ブラシ部分には『歯ブラシの剛毛』、動物には『豚の剛毛』など。動詞は怒りや不満で毛が逆立つイメージで使われる。『bristle with anger』は腹を立てている状態。

My toothbrush has soft bristles.
