Definition

주요 길이나 강, 혹은 주제에서 분리되어 다른 방향으로 나아가는 것. 실제 도로나 추상적인 주제 모두에 쓰임.

주로 길, 강, 이야기 주제에 쓰이고 사람에게 직접 쓰이지 않음. 예: '길이 갈라지다', '이야기가 다른 방향으로 흐르다'.

The river branches off into two smaller streams.

강이 두 개의 작은 개울로 **갈라진다**.

The main road branches off to the left after the bridge.

주요 도로가 다리 건너 왼쪽으로 **갈라진다**.
