Usado para dizer que alguém ou algo estaria numa situação mais favorável ou melhor. Normalmente usado para sugerir uma escolha melhor.

Muito comum no inglês falado e escrito; aparece normalmente após verbos como 'be' ou 'would be'. Costuma ser usado com 'if' para marcar contraste. Refere-se muitas vezes a melhorias financeiras ou emocionais. Não é o mesmo que 'better than', que compara dois itens.
