技術的には違法ではないが、法律の本来の趣旨や精神には反することをすること。多くは自分の利益のため。

やや批判的なニュアンスのあるカジュアルな表現です。法律の抜け道を利用し、故意に違法行為はしない場合に使います。'try to bend the law', 'find ways to bend the law' などの形でよく使います。'break the law' とは異なります。
