अधिकतर साहित्यिक या औपचारिक संदर्भ में प्रयोग होता है। दोनों अर्थों (आकर्षित करना या धोखा देना) में आ सकता है। 'beguile by' या 'beguile into' जैसे ढंग से आता है। सामान्य बोली में कम है।
