誰かが何か悪いことや間違いをした時に、怒った声で強く叱ること。

主にアメリカ英語でカジュアルな表現です。親や上司が子供や目下の人を強く叱る時によく使います。'scold' よりも強い意味になります。肯定的な内容では使いません。
