一度約束したことや合意したことを途中でやめる、取りやめること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

'back out'は、話し言葉でよく使われ、約束や合意から気が変わったときに使う。例：'back out of a deal'や 'back out at the last minute'。物理的に後ろに下がる意味では使わない（この場合は'back away'）。
