Birinin bir şeyi yapmak üzere olduğunu, bir eylemi başlatmaya çok yakın olduğunu belirtmek için kullanılır.

Genelde resmi veya nötrdür; daha çok yazılı veya resmi konuşmalarda görülür. İngilizcede '-ing' ile kullanılır, Türkçede ise 'yapmak üzere' gibi kalıplar tercih edilir.
