집이나 사업장에서 나오는 석탄이나 나무를 태운 뒤의 재를 수거하여 치우는 일을 하는 사람. 과거에 흔했던 직업입니다.

주로 역사적이거나 문학 작품에서 등장하는 단어이며, 요즘에는 거의 쓰이지 않습니다. 오늘날에는 '환경미화원'이나 '쓰레기 수거인'이라는 표현을 더 많이 씁니다.
