위로 올라가는 행동이나 과정으로, 산을 오르거나 더 높은 위치로 올라가는 것.

주로 공식적이거나 전문적인 상황에서 사용됩니다. 실제 등반과 비유적으로 지위 상승 모두에 쓰입니다. 'accent'(억양)과 혼동하지 마세요. 'steep ascent', 'rapid ascent' 자주 쓰입니다.
