Levar alguém formalmente ao tribunal para ouvir as acusações contra ele e pedir que declare inocência ou culpa. É o primeiro passo em um processo criminal.

'Arraign' é vocabulário jurídico formal e não costuma ser usado fora do contexto legal. Frases comuns: 'arraigned on charges of...'. Refere-se geralmente à primeira audiência após a prisão.
