Definition

釣り竿と釣り糸で魚を釣る人のこと。多くは趣味やレジャーとして行う。

「angler」はイギリス英語やフォーマルな場面で多く使われます。アメリカ英語では一般に「fisherman」を使います。「angler」は竿と糸による釣りに限定され、網などには使いません。「アンコウ（anglerfish）」とは異なります。
