對某事進行更改，通常是小但重要的改變；讓某事變得與原來不同。

Usage Notes (Chinese (Traditional))

經常用於正式或書面語。通常指小幅或逐漸的改變，非徹底改變。常搭配物品、計劃或狀況。不要和 'change' 混淆，'alter' 較具體且變化幅度較小。
