誰かや何かについて少し知っている状態や、あまり親しくないが知識はあることを表します。

フォーマルな場面や初対面の人・新しいことに対してよく使います。「get/become acquainted with」とセットで使うことが多いです。親しい関係や深い知識を表しません。
