Definition

手に入らないものや遠く離れたものへの強く深い思い、憧れ。

「yearning」は日常会話よりも文学や感情的な場面で使われ、普通の「want」や「desire」よりも詩的かつ強い感情を表現します。「〜への憧れ（yearning for〜）」のように対象がはっきりしている場合が多いです。
