年

Definition

年とは、地球が太陽のまわりを一周する約365日の期間のことです。場合によって、学校年度や会計年度を指すこともあります。

「年」は日常とフォーマルの両方で使われ、数字や時期（「来年」「去年」など）とよく組み合わされます。英語の「yearn」とは無関係です。

I will visit my grandparents next year.

私は来**年**祖父母を訪ねます。

The school starts a new term each year.

学校は毎**年**新しい学期が始まります。
