在現代標準英語中幾乎不用。常見於《聖經》、古英語文學、某些地區方言（尤其是愛爾蘭英語），以及故意模仿古風的幽默表達。不要把它和「Ye Olde ...」混淆；在那裡很多時候 “Ye” 實際上是古拼寫裡的 “the”，不是代詞 “you”.
