庭は家や建物の周りにある屋外のスペースです。また、「ヤード」は長さの単位（約91cm）も指します。

アメリカ英語で「yard」は家の外の空き地を指し、イギリス英語では「garden」が一般的です。'front yard'や'yard sale'などの表現や、長さを表す時の単位としても使います。
