仕事をする人、特に肉体労働や定期的な仕事をしている人を指します。広く「働いている人」という意味でも使われます。

主に工場やサービス業など肉体的または一般的な職業で使われます（例：'factory worker'＝工場労働者、'office worker'＝会社員）。'employee'はより広く、ややフォーマルです。'労働者の権利'など社会・政治の話題でもよく使われます。
