Definition

き甲は、馬の首の付け根で肩の間にある、背中の最も高い部分を指します。まれに、植物が枯れることも意味します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に馬や犬など動物の体の一部として使います。人には使いません。動詞の用法は非常にまれで、植物が「しおれる」ときだけです。「measured at the withers」は馬の高さの測定でよく使われます。
