Definition

ヤマネコは、人に飼われていない小型または中型の野生のネコです。また、あえて規則に従わない危険な行動や事業を指すこともあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に野生動物（主にヨーロッパやスコットランドのヤマネコ）を指しますが、「wildcat strike（無許可のストライキ）」など比喩的にも使われます。スポーツチーム名にもなります。
