両端の間の距離が大きいこと。また、多くの物事を含む、または広範囲に及ぶことも指します。

物理的な幅を示すときは'広い道','広い川'のように使います。'a wide range of'は「幅広い〜」と訳されます。「worldwide」は「世界中の」, 「wide open」は「大きく開いている」。日常会話では'wide'がサイズ表現でよく使われます。
