O pavio é o fio ou material numa vela ou numa lâmpada que arde e absorve o combustível (como cera ou óleo) para manter a chama acesa.

Usada sobretudo para velas e candeeiros a óleo. Uma expressão comum é 'cortar o pavio'. Refere-se quase sempre à parte física da vela ou lâmpada.
