Bebida alcohólica fuerte hecha por destilación de cereales como cebada, maíz o centeno, y normalmente envejecida en barriles de madera. Se puede beber sola, con hielo o en cócteles.

Normalmente es incontable: 'some whiskey' o 'a glass of whiskey'. También existe la grafía 'whisky', muy común para el escocés y muchas variedades no estadounidenses, mientras que 'whiskey' se usa mucho en contextos irlandeses y estadounidenses.
