Definition

人を傷つけたり、殺したり、脅したりするために使う道具。主に銃やナイフ、爆弾などを指します。

物理的な道具だけを指し、方法やアイデアには使いません。「carry weapons」「nuclear weapons」「weapon of choice」などの表現があります。「arms」はよりフォーマルな言い方です。

The police found weapons in the car.
