Definition
Um waiter é um homem cujo trabalho é servir comida e bebida aos clientes em um restaurante, café ou lugar parecido. Normalmente ele anota os pedidos, leva os pratos e ajuda os clientes durante a refeição.

É usado para um atendente homem; a forma feminina costuma ser 'waitress', mas hoje 'server' também é muito comum por ser neutro. Combinações frequentes: 'call the waiter', 'the waiter took our order' e 'tip the waiter'. Em alguns lugares, 'server' soa mais natural no uso atual.
