यह 'wait' का भूतकाल रूप है। इसका मतलब है किसी जगह रुकना या कोई काम तब तक टालना जब तक कोई आए, कुछ हो, या सब तैयार हो जाए।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

आम तौर पर किसी व्यक्ति या चीज़ से पहले 'for' आता है: 'waited for the bus'। 'waited to + verb' का मतलब है किसी काम को बाद तक टालना: 'waited to eat'। मानक अंग्रेज़ी में 'waited someone' नहीं कहते।
