是「wait」的過去式。表示待在某處，或暫不行動，直到某人到來、某事發生或一切準備好。

Usage Notes (Chinese (Traditional))

通常在人或事物前面要用 'for'：'waited for the bus'。'waited to + 動詞' 表示把某個動作延後再做，如 'waited to eat'。標準英語裡不說 'waited someone'。
