Definition

浅い川や池、海などで、水に足を入れてゆっくり歩くこと。水はくるぶし、ひざ、腰のあたりまでの深さです。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に水の中を歩く時に使い、泥や深い水には使いません。「wading pool（子ども用浅いプール）」「wading birds（水辺を歩く鳥）」などの表現があります。泳ぐより歩くイメージです。
