外国への入国・滞在・出国を一定期間認める公式な書類やパスポートのスタンプのこと。

主に旅行や移民の場面で使われる語です。観光ビザ、学生ビザ、就労ビザなど種類があります。『ビザを申請する』『ビザを取る』『ビザの申請書』などの表現でよく使われます。クレジットカードの『Visa』とは混同しないようにしましょう。

You need a visa to travel to the United States.
