El borde o límite de algo, o el punto en que algo está a punto de suceder. Se usa mucho en la frase 'on the verge of' para decir que algo casi ocurre.

'Verge' se usa mayormente en 'on the verge of' (a punto de). Es formal y puede ser literal (borde físico) o figurado (casi ocurriendo algo). No suele usarse para objetos físicos en inglés americano moderno.
