同じものの中で異なるタイプや種類を表します。よく食品や植物、製品などに使われます。

多くの場合「いろいろな」「さまざまな」と一緒に使われます。「種類」はカジュアルにもフォーマルにも使用されますが、生物学でいう「種」とは異なります。
