Definition

より高い場所やレベル、位置に向かうこと、または上に向かって動くこと。

「upward trend（上昇傾向）」や「move upward（上に進む）」などで使われます。「upwards」との違いはほとんどありませんが、upwardはややフォーマルです。

The elevator moved upward to the tenth floor.
