自分の正体や目的を隠して、秘密裏に行動すること。主に警察や捜査に使われ、一般的な秘密の活動にも使われる。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「undercover police officer」「undercover agent」「undercover operation」などの表現でよく使われる。「secret」とは異なり、何かに変装して正体を隠すニュアンスが強い。
