何かをする能力や機会、時間、許可がなくてできないときに使います。ある状況で、その人ができないことを表します。

たいてい「to + 動詞」と一緒に使う：'unable to attend'など。'can't'より丁寧でフォーマル。メールやお知らせでよく使われます。

I am unable to open the door.
