打字員是指專門用鍵盤或打字機輸入信件、報告等文件的人。

「打字員」多指正式工作崗位，如辦公室文員，是較正式且現今較少用的稱呼。目前多用「文員」等更廣泛的職稱。用來指打字速度快的人也可以。
