Definition

二つの側が争いや戦いを一時的にやめることに合意すること。恒久的な平和ではなく、一時的な措置です。

「休戦」はニュースや正式な場面でよく使われますが、口論やゲームの時にも使えます（例：「休戦しよう」）。恒久の平和ではなく、一時的なものです。

The two countries agreed to a truce to stop the fighting.

両国は戦いを止めるために**休戦**に合意した。

Let's call a truce and stop arguing.
