「トゥルーパー」は特に騎兵隊や装甲部隊の兵士、またアメリカの州警察官を指します。日常では、困難を前向きに乗り越える人にも使われます。

公的には兵士や州警察官に使われるやや堅い言葉です。日常会話では「a real trooper」は困難にも前向きな人への誉め言葉。 ‘troop’（軍集団）と混同しないように注意を。
