Definition

同じ母親から同時に生まれた三人の子どもや動物。音楽では、二拍分の時間内に三つ連続して演奏される音符のこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

『三つ子』は多胎児・三人兄弟姉妹の場合に使います。「triplets」の単数形（三つ子の一人）はあまり使われません。音楽用語では『三連符』です。「twins」（双子）や「quadruplets」（四つ子）と区別してください。
