खाई या खंदक जमीन में खोदी गई लंबी और संकरी गड्ढी होती है। इसका उपयोग निर्माण, कृषि या युद्ध में सुरक्षा के लिए किया जाता है।

'Trench' शब्द खासकर बड़ी खाई या युद्ध की खंदक के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है ('trench warfare')। आमतौर पर छोटे गड्ढों या प्राकृतिक दरारों के लिए नहीं। 'Trench coat' भी एक आम वाक्यांश है।
