Definition

トーナメントは、個人やチームが複数のラウンドで勝者を決めるために対戦する大会です。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にスポーツ、eスポーツ、チェスなどの複数ラウンドがある大会に使われます。単純な1試合には使いません。 'sports tournaments'や'chess tournaments'などの表現で用いられます。
